FEEDING PROGRAMS
When opening an orphanage in a new area, we are faced with a multitude of needs in those communities. One of them is the lack of food and people begging us for help. That's why we have decided on three different kinds of feeding programs.
Feeding Stations
There are times of special needs in the communities like in the wake of floods, droughts or tropical storms, when people depend on temporary help. Feeding stations will provide either warm meals or distribute food items such as rice or flour.
Supplemental Feedings
The Supplemental Feeding Program is designed to help families in poverty-stricken areas to overcome their immediate need and to become self-reliant. Mothers are invited to help with the food preparation and are taught how to prepare healthy meals for their families. In addition, they receive instructions in basic health care.
Operation Survival-Pak
With the help of doctors and health care workers in the Philippines, we have prepared a ‘survival-pak’ which is tailor-made for malnourished children. In many cases, their weakened body can no longer digest regular food, and they are literally fighting for their survival. Each survival-pak contains a balanced nutritious mix that a child’s body can easily absorb.
