WATER WELLS

Drilling water wells and installing pumps to provide safe drinking water for villages in India is one of many projects. The lack of clean and safe drinking water in the villages around the city of Vijayawada is a serious problem, and many villagers become ill after drinking contaminated and bacteria-infested water from rivers and canals. Typhoid, cholera and other intestinal infections are widespread. For only $1,150.00, we can drill a well and install a hand pump which will provide enough drinking water for a whole village.

In October, 2013, Omega's Executive Administrator was able to travel to India. Ms. Tucker, seen in the picture to the left and in the middle of the picture to the right, visited three villages, in which Omega has drilled wells and installed pumps. These three wells provide fresh, clean drinking water to several thousand tribal villagers! A huge return for a relatively small investment!
